Like most families, our weekend was spent stuffing our faces with great food, eating way too many chocolate bunnies, and hunting Easter eggs. We spent some time with family and friends and just enjoyed the great weather.
Abby went and saw the Easter bunny the weekend before. Unlike with Santa, she was a little cautious at first, but was not completely terrified. We snapped a few pictures before we left...
Smelling the flowers
It's not Easter unless you dye eggs. Please excuse her outfit- she dressed herself and I'm just too pregnant to care these days. It's a Target bathing suit with a matching ruffle skirt and hot pink shoes.
We had an Easter Egg hunt at Grams' and Gramps' house on Saturday morning. Abby chowed down on some Easter candy while hunting for eggs.
We woke up on Sunday morning to see what the Easter Bunny left for us! Abby loves her new glitter shoes and Abby Cadabby socks!
We headed to church around 10. Abby did really well at church. We sat in the back and pulled out endless amounts of "quiet" activities for her to play with, as well as, some pretzels and a few suckers. At about the 45 minute mark she was starting to get a little restless. We didn't want to press our luck, especially in a packed church, so we slid out the back door and headed to Grandmommy and Pawpaw's house for another egg hunt.
"I found one!"
After brunch with Grandma, Grandad and more family, we headed to my Grandma's house for house for more food and play time. Abby had a great Easter!
Here is a look back at Abby's 1st and 2nd Easters!
She seemed so big to me last year. I cannot believe how quick she is growing up!

Abby goes to the zoo
We took Abby to the zoo on Saturday morning because the weather was gorgeous! Her favorite exhibit by far is the farm animals-especially the donkey. Brandon and I were laughing that out of all the really cool animals to see, we spent most of our time looking at the one lonely donkey. We did get to feed a giraffe while we there which was really cool. Abby loved it, but did not want to hold a piece of lettuce by herself.

Spring Break
For spring break we had a "staycation" and played right here in town. Abby had been sick the week before, so once spring break kicked in we had a packed schedule of play dates, ice cream, playgrounds, indoor swimming, swinging, sliding, painting, and lots of flower bed watering.
All dressed and ready for ballet--didn't realize they had cancelled for spring break, so we went and had lunch with Daddy instead...
Brandon and I realized at lunch that he proposed 5 years ago to the day-- March 15th, 2007. 5 years later, we are quickly eating our lunch with our 2 year old that is covered in ice cream and cheese dip waiting for the arrival our 2nd baby in about 8 weeks!
Abby kissing, Buck, our neighbors dog. We walk to see him probably 3 times a day. They love each other!

Big girl bed
Abby is officially out of her crib and into her big girl bed! We moved her about a week ago and it was no trouble at all! I had heard horror stories about how difficult it was for parents to move their baby from the crib to the big bed, so we were a little apprehensive to do it so soon. It was just a few weeks after her 2nd birthday and we thought we might be jumping the gun; however, we need her crib for the new baby since he will be here before we know it! We waited as long as we could, and once all of her furniture arrived, and everything was in place, we did the switch. We had been talking about her new "princess bed," and "princess room," and "princess curtains," for weeks, so I think she was just as ready to get the show on the road. She loves her big girl bed and room! Here she is on the first night enjoy a lot more room in her full sized bed!

Cake for Daddy
According to Brandon, the estrogen in our house these days is completely "out of control." With me being 30 weeks pregnant, and Abby being quite the little sass that she is, I would have to agree that there is some drama. Not all the time, but definitely more than usual. So as a peace offering, Abby and I made Daddy one of his favorite cakes. It is so easy and so good, and you will hate yourself the next day because you ate way more than you should. Finally, after a few days of a bite here and a bite there, it hit the trash...Brandon said that was a sad day for him.
Chef in training...
Here is the recipe:
Make 1 box of a yellow cake mix- preferably something that has the words "golden" or "buttery" to describe the cake.
Mix and bake according to box
When the cake first comes out of the oven and is still hot, poke small holes in the top, and pour one stick of melted butter over the hot cake.
Sprinkle generously with Cinnamon and Sugar.
So easy and so good!

Abby and Friends
Abby, Giuliana, and Jake are becoming really good friends. All of the parents went to college together and have know each other for over 10 years- several of us were roommates together at school, and even after we graduated from CBU. I love that we are still so close, and now our children are close too. We had everyone over the other night to play and eat dinner. After a while we let the kiddos watch a movie to calm down and get ready for bed...even that turned into a party!
Sweet friends!

Painting fun
Abby loves to paint and I found out recently that it really doesn't matter what it is. She had more fun painting this toy truck and making "tracks" on the paper. I gave her some pasta noodles and shells to paint for fun and she had a blast making a complete mess.
