Trick or Treat!

Love, love Halloween! This year we had a party in our front yard for all of the neighbors. We let all of the kids bounce in a bouncy house, ate chili dogs, cheesy dips and cupcakes. The kids had a blast, and after about an hour or so were ready to trick or treat. I only snapped a few pictures...here are Mickey and Minnie!
Sassy Mini Mouse
Abby and her sweet friends; Field the Skeleton, and Lila the Ghost
We went trick or treating for about an hour or more, came home, took a bath, watched tv, and went to bed way past our bed time. It was so much fun, and I can't wait to do it again next year.
Abby vegging out after all the fun to watch a little Halloween Dora
Here is our slow start to the morning...

What a great night! Happy Halloween everyone :)

Lately...

Books were read
bouncies bounced...
and lots of smiles.
Streets were cruised...
and tantrums thrown.
Movies watched
cards decorated...
and birthdays celebrated
Love was spread
and naps were taken
all while Halloween awaits...

Go, Charlie, Go!

For the last month or so, Charlie has been trying so hard to roll over. His biggest obstacle-- his left arm. He has been so close so many times, but just couldn't seem to get his left arm out from underneath him. Finally, after weeks of persevering he was able to roll from back to tummy. We actually missed it the first time since he rolled over in his crib while we thought he was napping. He waited one more day and then rolled all the way over in front of an audience at my Grandmother's house. Pretty neat when you think about it; my grandmother witnessed her great grandchild roll over for the first time. Since then, this is all Charlie wants to do, and has even rubbed the skin on his cheeks raw from all the rolling over.
Trying so hard
This was one of the first times that I actually heard Charlie get really mad and fuss. He was trying so hard, but just couldn't do it.
Way to go, Charlie!

Pumpkin Patch

Last week Abby and her friend, Jake, met at the pumpkin patch for a play date. These two have a love/hate relationship that stems back to when they were very little.
A little example of the 2 frenemies in action
But as they have gotten older Abby and Jake really do love each other, and constantly ask about the other. Whenever we get together for a play date, Katherine (Jake's mom) and I talk about how much Abby asks about Jake, and visa versa. Here are they are enjoying the pumpkins.
Cute little friends :)

Heber, Here We Come!

We took a quick trip to the lake this past weekend with family. It was a lot of fun, but a lot of work since the weather didn't exactly cooperate; lots of indoor activities, and the Cinderella dvd might have been played about 5 times. It was freezing- The high on Saturday was 51, but it was raining, and our cabin was on the water, so it was pretty darn cold. We got there Friday night. It took us a little over 3 hours to get there, only stopping once to feed Charlie and get Abby a few snacks. I didn't take many pictures, but here are the few that I did snap on my phone of Charlie's first vacation!
Abby's candy necklace. Whatever keeps you occupied, Sister!
An afternoon nap around 5. Clearly she was exhausted.
Julie and Charlie
An up close picture of me and Charlie.
Abby and Paw Paw at the river
Time to head home. Both kids slept for almost all of the car ride home.
We had so much fun. Can't wait to go back.

Disney on Ice

Disney on Ice was absolutely precious, and well worth the $20. We went with our good friends, and Abby's bestie, Giuliana. They looked so cute in their matching Snow White costumes. After the show we grabbed some lunch at Silky's and headed home. We had a blast! Here are a few pictures-- snapped on my iPhone, so not the best quality!
The best daddy ever!
So sleepy!

Charlie's 4 month check up

We had Charlie's 4 month check up last week. He is growing so fast it's crazy! Right now, at 4 months, he is wearing mostly 6 month clothes, with an occasional 3 month or 9 month depending on how big or small. He is sleeping through the night like a pro, and still loves to eat. He nurses 5 times a day, and his Daddy gives him a nighttime bottle. We started rice cereal a little earlier than we supposed to, but we thought he needed a little more food in his belly. The rice cereal knocks him out in the morning for a good 2 hour nap or so- all depending on what we have going on that day. He is in the 50% for weight, 50% for height, and 75% for head circumference. You don't get the nick name "Chunk" for nothing. He is a big healthy boy and we are very thankful for that!
Here he is about to break the scale at the doctor's office
Before shots. Hate that this is blurry :(
Sweet Charlie Kamm. Goodness gracious you are just the sweetest!
