This year for the 4th we went to Gram's and Gramps' house for a parade. It was so cute! There were 2 fire trucks that came and turned on the hoses so the kids could play in the water. Abby loves to play in the water so it was a blast to watch her!
Walking to the parade!
Here come the fire trucks!
Abby got to go on top of the fire truck with Daddy!
It was a great 4th of July!

Water Colors
It rained off and on this past Tuesday, so Abby and I stayed in most of the day. I think we went through every toy, puzzle, book, and dvd, so I had to find something to occupy our afternoon. I found some water color paint in the closet and set up a little art station at the kitchen table. She had a lot of fun dipping the brush in the water and painting.
Concentrating so hard on her masterpiece!
Yummy!

Chicago- Day 4
This was our last day in Chicago. We decided to leave a little earlier than planned so that we could make the drive in 2 days instead of 1. We learned our lesson the first time, and we did not want to make that mistake again! We ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant and went to the Children's Museum for the 2nd time- This time we bypassed the fountain and actually made it to the museum.
Abby starting her morning very slowly!
Finally made it to the Children's Museum. Here is Abby, to no one's surprise, playing in the WATER exhibit!
Abby driving the car
Peek-a-boo
Time for some lunch at Pizano's. Brandon loves deep dish pizza and theirs is fantastic. We were a little worried because it takes at least 30 minutes to make a pizza, and the night before we had to leave a restaurant because Abby would not sit in her seat! We ordered the biggest bowl of spaghetti you have ever seen, and let her go to town. She sat for over an hour eating everything we put in front of her, which gave Brandon an opportunity to enjoy his pizza! We were so happy!
Because she was so good at lunch, we gave Abby a little treat. We popped into More Cupcakes (just so happens to be Oprah's favorite) and got Abby a cupcake. She LOVED it!
After lunch and dessert we went back to the playground to burn off some steam before we got on the road. We were pretty sad to go- we had a lot of fun!
Talking about her skinned knee
Getting a smooch before we go. A great end to a great trip!

Chicago- Day 3
We started our day with room service so that Abby could just hang out for a little bit before we got out and about. Here she is enjoying her pancakes.
After breakfast we went to a place called the Little Bean Cafe. We had so much fun and I wish that they would open one in Memphis. It is just a large room with several play houses, toys, blocks, cars, books, hula hoops and anything else you could imagine for your child to play with. There is an area where the parents can sit and eat or drink coffee and the kids go and play. It was so nice to be able to hang out and talk without having to worry about Abby.
Our next purchase- a pink cozy coupe!
We played for an hour more until it was time for Abby to take a nap. While she slept in the car We drove around the city and through some of the neighborhoods. Chicago really is a neat place! When she woke up we went to Wrigley Field- Daddy's favorite! Brandon made sure that Abby had some Cubs gear, so he bought her a hat and t-shirt. What a great way to spend Father's Day!
After we left Wrigley Field we went back to the hotel- I think all of the running around caught up with Abby because she started to run a fever. After a nap and some tylenol we were out the door again and heading to the Disney Store.
We managed to buy only a pair of pink light up Princess jelly shoes. They are a little big, but she will be in them sooner than later!
Petting a horse for the first time. Abby didn't really care for the horse which is one of the first times I have ever really seen her uncomfortable. She was clinging on pretty tight here.
Brandon rode this escalator probably 20 times so that I could go buy a purse I had been eyeing since we got there. What a nice Daddy!
We attempted dinner at the Cheesecake Factory, but it was just too much for her, so we got our food to go and had dinner back at the hotel. It was nice to go home and relax for a little bit.
