Easter Weekend...

Was a busy one! The festivities started on Thursday and went until late Sunday night. Abby thoroughly enjoyed her weekend by unwrapping gifts, going to Easter egg hunts, eating chocolate and spending time with family. It's amazing to Brandon and I how generous everyone is to Abby. She is one loved little girl and we are so grateful for this! Thank you all for the very thoughtful Easter gifts you gave her; I can assure you that all stuffed animals will be loved, clothes will be worn, books will be read, and candy will be eaten. Even though we didn't make it to church (I will explain that later) Brandon and I had a lot to be thankful for, and Easter will definitely remind you that God is very good.

Playing with the ever abundant Easter grass. Somehow we managed to track this stuff all through the house and we are still finding it!

Abby loves her new ring from Grandma and Grandad. She kept twirling it through her fingers.

Heading to the Easter Egg hunt at CUMC.

Looking like such a big girl

Ready, set, go!

Abby and Daddy

Bunny Food

Abby woke up Easter morning just miserable. She has been sick for several weeks now and we thought she was feeling a little better, but we were wrong. She spent most of the morning crying and wanting to held so we stayed at home and let her nap on the couch and watch her new dvd.

Checking out her goodies.

Snuggling on the couch watching her new Sesame Street movie.

I just love an Easter bonnet.

I think Easter just became my new favorite holiday!

Easter Eggs

Last night we dyed Easter eggs. To make the process a little less messy we moved everything outside, put Abby in nothing but her water shoes and a diaper cover, and gave her 4 colors to choose from. She had a lot of fun. She was a lot more cautious than we thought she would be, but at one point she threw an egg right into a cup of the mix. After the novelty wore off, she went and played with the water hose and dog bowls.

I asked Abby to show me her new shoes. I think she likes them!

A few of my favorite things...

We bought Abby this tee-pee from Kirkland's for her 1st birthday. Having already bought everything that she could have ever wanted or needed for her birthday, we thought one more gift wouldn't hurt. Well, it was the best $19.99 that I have ever spent. She loves this tee-pee and likes to throws herself against the walls in the hopes that it will tip over. If you are downstairs you can hear her cackling from the playroom

Abby insists on wearing her raincoat regardless of the weather. Hot and sunny out; got to wear the raincoat. Inside where it's nice and dry; raincoat is a must. Hanging out reading books; with a raincoat of course. Playing with the Meda; why wouldn't you wear a raincoat? I guess it's better to safe than sorry.

I know I've said it before, but this little girl loves to swing. Brandon went and bought a swing last weekend, but had a little trouble getting the ropes tied to the branch. Here is what it looked like the first go around:

Slanted to the right and too close to the tree! Brandon picked up a ladder at work and I walked outside to find this...

Look closely and you will see a huge ladder and the baby.

Waiting for her Daddy to fix her swing.

Such a handyman. Brandon is great at this kind of stuff.

The swing is up and running!

We went and saw the Easter Bunny today. I will post pictures later. Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Too much fun

This weekend was a blast. We played and played and played. For starters, we went to the little gym on Saturday morning. This has been well worth the money. For 45 minutes every Saturday you "work out" with your baby; anything from running, jumping, practicing forward rolls, walking on a balance beam, and hanging from uneven bars, these little babies go for a solid 45 minutes. Abby's favorite part of the class is when the instructor wakes the balls up and they get to play. The balls have been sleeping for the past week so it is the kids job to wake them. They do this by hitting the top of a huge tupperware bin. Once the class is over they get a stamp on their hands and a squirt of magic soap (hand sanitizer).

This is what Abby looked like after the first class.
I checked to make sure she was still breathing. I was a little concerned there for a second.

Here was the night after the first class. Again, I doubled checked to make sure she was ok.

Clearly it wears her completely out! Here are some pictures from this past Saturday.

Strategizing the next move all while Dad gives a pep talk.

After the Little Gym we had some friends over for hamburgers. Abby's "besties" as we like to call them; Giuliana, Jake and Abby all play so well together. It's really nice now that all of the babies are around the same age and mobile. For a while Abby was the oldest and the other babies were much calmer and easier to please. Now they can either walk, crawl, or sit-up which makes play time much more fun. Everyone went home about 9:30 and it was no problem getting Abby to sleep that night!

Sunday was just as much fun. Abby was outside ALL day; she played with her friends, Maggie and Thomas that live next door, her new hose and crab pool, ate popsicles, took a walk with Mommy and a jog with Daddy. Here are just a few of the many pictures we took.

A crab in a crab...

Well, all of this fun must have worn her out because we ended up here:

In our bed and home from school with a 102 fever.

To here:

The Yukon Clinic waiting on Dr. Chidister.

To back home and on the coach with another fever.

It looks like along the way Abby caught a little fever virus- nothing too serious. We got a prescription for her terrible diaper rash and came home to the couch where she slept for about an hour. After some tylenol and a snack she was already on the mend. I'm sure by tomorrow she will be feeling much better. I guess all this fun wore her out!
