Jerry's Snow Cones

My family has been going to Jerry's Snow Cones since we were little kids. My Grandparent's lived a block away and we would walk there with our Grandpa, Bud, walking stick in hand. There are more flavors than you can imagine and it was always so hard to choose. Rainbow was always a favorite, but now I love wedding cake. I turned Brandon on to Jerry's back when were dating, and I think he could eat one everyday. There is something about a sticky snow cone that brings back a lot of family memories. I can't believe that after all these years it is still there, and instead of walking there with my Grandparent's, I am taking my daughter there to eat the same treat!

Enjoying her first snow cone.

YUM!!

Children's Museum

Abby loves the Children's Museum. Since the weather has been so hot
(reaching about 100) we have been inside during the afternoons. A few months ago Abby's favorite part was the toddler area, but now that she is such a "big girl", she likes to go in the big kid areas.

Breaking it down to Michael Jackson in the disco room~

Playing in the castle~

Playing with the fish~

Shopping in the grocery store. Abby picked out at least 5 boxes of cereal, 5 containers of laundry detergent and some peas.

Abby is one determined little girl. She did this all by herself. It was hysterical to watch her work so hard to fill up the cart- moving from shelf to shelf and then to the basket. She was definitely proud of herself by the end of the day!

Memorial Day Weekend

Summer is here and what a weekend we have had. Abby and I came home on Friday and started playing. We decorated the sidewalk with chalk, blew bubbles, went swinging and took a long walk with our next door neighbors.

On Saturday Abby played with the hose and got a little treat from the ice cream man.

We had dinner with friends and played in their pool. Abby and Jake are so cute together!

On Sunday we got together with our friends from Nashville. Shannon and I had the same due date, but Madison came 2 weeks earlier than expected, and Abby was almost a week late- which puts them about 3 weeks apart. They had so much fun together swimming in the baby pool and playing with the hose. Jake watched the girls most of the time- sitting in the same spot for about 30 minutes with the hose. They were so much fun to watch.

Bathing beauties

Falling out of the pool and skinning her knee.

Aren't they adorable?

We cleaned up the babies, put the girls in matching ruffled bubbles and took more pictures.

What a great weekend!

Car Seat Cat Naps

Ever since Abby was a baby she has always loved to catch a quick nap in her car seat. Whether enjoying a little stroll, or getting from point A to B, there is a huge possibility that Abby will catch a little cat nap somewhere in between.

These pictures are when Abby was under a year and in her rear facing car seat.
This was the first time that I took Abby out of the house by myself to do a little shopping. She was only about 2 weeks old and she slept through the whole thing!

All grown up and napping in her forward facing car seat.

You would think with all of these little cat naps Abby wouldn't want to sleep in her crib...

Not the case! This little girl loves her naps!

Mother's Day

I always enjoyed Mother's Day growing up because we spent it with my Mom and Grandmother's, but now that I am a mother it has a completely new meaning. I always knew that I wanted to be a mom, but never knew just how amazing this job really was. At times, yes, it is one of the most challenging jobs that someone will ever do; however, at the end of the day when your baby kisses you goodnight, or eats a good dinner and says, "tank yuw," or just laughs hard at something you do, all that stress and frustration just melts away, and you have to laugh at yourself.

So, even on days when Abby does this,

Or pitches a fit at the neighbors house over a Popsicle,

Sooner than later, the Abby we all know and love comes back to make us laugh.

So Abby, Mommy loves you more than you will ever know. I wish you could stay this little forever, but you won't. So one day when you are all grown up, and realize that Mommy is not as exciting as she used to be, I hope you will remember how happy you made me, and even then, I will always look at you like you are my little girl.

Thank you for being the reason I celebrate Mother's Day.

Royal Wedding

Prince William and Kate Middelton were married this weekend in England. Everyone has been talking about her beautiful dress, the first kiss, the hats, etc. So, to celebrate this royal event the nursery decided that they would have a wedding of their own. Here is the bride to be waiting for her Prince.

Tornadoes

Memphis has recently been hit with some very nasty weather. Several times this week alone we have been under tornado warnings and awful thunderstorms. Yesterday at school we had to go to the basement while one of the worst storms we have seen this season ripped through Memphis. As I was walking 19 little boys down into the basement all I could think about was getting to Abby. As soon as I turned the corner by the nursery, I saw one of my co-workers holding her, Lamby and all. I was so relieved that I was able to take her with me while I walked my class to the basement. Once in the room Abby was entertainment to 75 little boys- all 4 Junior Kindergarten classes were locked in a room while we waited for the storm to pass. The pictures aren't the best quality, but adorable none the less!

Can I sit in your lap?

Where's Abby?
